Many feel that pay should be closely linked with performance, even suggesting pay cuts for poor performance. Companies will likely set pay packages that reflect their performance and narrow the gap between executive pay and workers' pay as they respond favorably to reforms in pay package planning.

The Shoshone guide to the Lewis and Clark 1804 expedition, Sacajawea, will be featured on the coin which will cost twice as much to mint as the unsuccessful Susan B. Anthony coin.

Portuguese language 700th anniversary

On Feb 29, 1996, Portugal issued a stamp to honor 700 years of Portuguese as its official language. A history of how the Portuguese language supplanted Latin and became the official one is recounted. The first known non-literary document written in Portuguese appeared in the 13th century.
