Article Abstract:

Photokina 1998, Germany's photography trade show, featured the introduction of new large-format technology. Camdynamics of Germany has made a prototype that uses a unique way of tilting and swinging a view camera lens without changing the film plane. Camdynamics still needs to perfect the prototype and find a distributor, but their design could forever change the way that large-format cameras are made. Other Photokina highlights are discussed.

Article Abstract:

Avoiding the problems of uneven borders and odd-sized frames when mounting photographs is discussed. A way to solve these problems is by using algebra to get the dimensions of the on-film image so it can produce the final desired picture size. A proportion wheel may also be used for this purpose.
