The French connection

Article Abstract:

The three-dimensional modeling study was carried out to support the long-held assumption that the Hope Diamond fits tightly within the French Blue Diamond. The results show that the Hope Diamond fits tightly within the French Blue diamond and strongly suggests that no sister stone to the Hope Diamond could be cut from with previous stones.

French Blue replica

Article Abstract:

Theories predict that the Hope Diamond is actually the original French Blue diamond, recut to disguise it after it was stolen during the French Revolution. A method to prepare a replica of French Blue diamond is presented.
