USPS offers choice: "peel & stick" or " lick & stick."(postage stamps from the United States Postal Service)

Article Abstract:

The postal service have developed several innovations to make stamps and stamp buying more attractive to consumers and collectors. A few of these changes are: selected distribution of large volumes of commemorative stamps, special perforations, ATM-vended stamps and the 'peel and stick' format.

USPS announces self adhesive stamps with liner variation

Article Abstract:

The USPS will increase production of the popular self-adhesive stamps in 1996 so that 90% of booklet stamps will have this format. To decrease cost and time, the words 'do not wet' will be dropped from the liner. Reprints of existing stamps in this format will have other small liner variations.

USPS wishes all a 'peel & stick' Christmas

Article Abstract:

On October 19, 1995, 900 million 'Midnight Angels' Christmas peel and stick postage stamps were issued at Christmas, FL. Another 1.4 bil self-adhesive stamps with holiday themes will be issued Sept 30, 1995. The history of the design for 'Midnight Angel'' and 'Children Sledding' is recounted.
