Wire exercise: learn to use your files and pliers effectively by creating a spiral in a frame

Article Abstract:

Pliers and files are used to show the time-honored teaching device to separate technique from design temporarily in order to focus on each element in isolation. Brass is used for making the spiral starting with 2 6" pieces of 8-gauge wire, one round and one square.

Creative cold connections: Setting a stone with no soldering

The term cold connections describe the technique of mechanically joining parts that cannot be soldered. The setting of a stone pendant consisting of four parts using three kinds of cold connections is demonstrated.
