The Minolta Maxxum 9xi enhances the features of the Maxxum 7xi. Designed to compete with the Nikon F4S, there is no built-in flash and the body has weather resistant construction. The motor drive handles 4.5 frames per second. It has a 1/12,000 shutter speed and 1/300-second dedicated flash synch feature. The anticipated price for the body is $1,000.

If the Maxxum 7xi's too posh but the 3xi's too simple, try a compromise

Article Abstract:

The Maxxum 5xi replaces the 5000xi and offers the best of 7xi features and 3xi price in one single lens reflex camera. The body is more compact and the mirror prism is glass which gives a brighter viewing image. Like other models, the camera lacks a depth-of-field preview button and flash terminal.

Minolta Maxxum 800si: icing up the 700si cake and more

Article Abstract:

The new Maxxum 800si has a number of improvements over its predecessor, the 700si, and has most of the same standard specs. The 800si has an almost identical polycarbonate and metal body and a pop-up flash that is more powerful in the tele and mid-range position.
