1 old house + 1 old house = A new old house

Article Abstract:

An 18th-century structure that was mere weeks away from being demolished was salvaged by a couple and used to build an addition to their existing home. The prize of their efforts was the building's centuries-old chestnut post-and-beam framing that they re-erected and used as the addition's structural skeleton.

Today's master craftsmen are turning out some extraordinary architectural details

Article Abstract:

Copper is being increasingly used to make fanciful, yet functional elements like rooftops, ornaments and show pieces. Copper is being chosen for exterior details because it is long-lasting, malleable at room temperature and can be sculpted into detailed forms.
