75 great plants for American gardens

Article Abstract:

The American Horticultural Society's 75th anniversary in 1997 was celebrated with a list of 75 plants which could enhance most American gardens. Most of the plants listed are resistant to draught, pests, and require little serious care. The plants were selected by horticulturists and the society's members. Some of the plants listed include the Russian sage, bottlebrush buckeye, and Chinese witch hazel.
