Cotter and Co power tools and accessories merchandise manager Jim McIlvain says that the biggest trend in the power tools category is the huge advances made in battery technology for cordless power tools. He notes that battery volts have gone from 9.6 to 12 volts and now there are 14.4 and 18 volts batteries available. McIlvain says that the most popular power tool sold by Cotter is the 9.6-volt drill.
