Central Texas: Buried history

Article Abstract:

Calcium montmorillonite, the melliflous name of the mineral component of the Texas blacklands has some challenging properties. The subtropical climate in Texas has a tendency to form 'vertisols', a soil that annually dry and crack and forms deep crevasses that swallow surface debris.

Little blue bulbs: Scillas, chionodoxas, and crocuses usher in spring

Little blue bulbs refer to a little flowers known as Scilla siberica, Chionodoxa, Crocus, which are thick in size. Little blue bulbs like Chionodoxa, Crocus and Scilla are compared by their height and color.
