Coneflowers: An American classic

Article Abstract:

Coneflower was considered as a weedy wild flower in their native land but they are being planted by many breeders for gardens because of its properties of long lasting bloom in the heat of summer and for medicinal properties. American gardeners and designers embraced the trend of using dramatic masses of coneflowers in the naturalistic design style that came into vogue in the 1970s and 1980s and hence its popularity surged in the 1990s.
