Covering ground

Article Abstract:

Low-growing ground covers which form a carpet for the garden can fill a border's bare patches, control weeds, reduce soil erosion, and act as mulch for larger plants. Ground covers including golden alyssum, forget-me-nots, and pointillistic brass buttons, are hardy and require little attention as they thrive in the shade of a tree and on a rocky slope or with blooming bulbs.
