Friends in the garden

Article Abstract:

The ancient Greeks placed statues of the God Priapus, protector of animals and crops, among their plants to ward off evil spirits, but today, scarecrows add a touch of fun to a garden have become symbols of the harvest season. Instructions to create a simple scarecrow are adapted from the book 'Scarecrows: Making Harvest Figures and Other Yard Folks', by Mississippi writer Felder Rushing.
