Good company for bulbs: perennials to dress up a spring border

Article Abstract:

Bulb plants and flower perennials can be grown together despite their contrasting needs for sunlight and moist soil. It is important to complement extent of growth in size and energy levels. It is critical not to pair plants that can negate each other's growth.

Take the plunge: use potted plants to enhance the summer border

Plants that are normally unable to thrive in areas with cold winters can be grown in containers that can be moved indoors or out as the weather requires. In the summer, these plants can add color to a garden border that has finished blooming in the spring.
