A hill of (string) beans in your garden

Pole beans may require work in setting up a trellis, but they are easier to harvest than bush beans and produce a higher quantity for a longer period of time. Blue Lake and Kentucky Wonder beans offer the best flavor in string beans.

Grow your beans a little longer

Yardlong beans, related to black-eyed peas, are also called asparagus beans, dow ghok and snake beans. The pods are delicious. They should be picked before they become two feet long for maximum tenderness. Tips on growing are given.
