Hardware Age home improvement market: market 2000

Article Abstract:

The home improvement market will remain healthy as the industry moves closer to the year 2000. The retail consolidation trend is going strong during 1996 and will continue, leaving many smaller retailers bankrupt or merged with larger entities. Home remodeling and do-it-yourself sectors will continue to flourish, although the market will grow at a slower pace during the latter half of the 1990s. The older consumer will be more incline to save, which will have a negative effect on economic growth.
