Little known mechanical banks

Article Abstract:

A mechanical bank that has not been photographed or written about is a very exciting find. Several little-known banks are described and illustrated, including the Little Dutch Girl, Light of the World, Bomb and Bank, Rabbit Drop-Drawer Bank and Bird on Nest Bank.

Alms and collection boxes

Article Abstract:

Antique boxes used to collect alms are developing value as collectibles. They were made of all sorts of materials and often performed mechanical functions when accepting coins. They displayed pictures and messages depicting the worthiness of the cause.

Celluloid boxes: an unknown collectible

Article Abstract:

Celluloid boxes made during the early 20th century were embossed with lithographs and manufactured as containers of personal items. These boxes vary greatly in price and are less expensive in some areas than others.
