Lowering your property taxes

Article Abstract:

Farm property taxes increased 28.5% between 1980 and 1989. Most of the states with the highest increases were in the Northeast. One of the ways to qualify for tax exemptions is to dedicate the land for certain uses such as agriculture, forestry and recreation. Tips on tax savings are provided.

Garden economics: growing your own vegetables is a sound investment of time, money and labor

Costs for maintaining a 30-by-40 foot plot of soil and growing vegetables can be one-third what it would require to buy them at a market, approximately $600. . The value of the harvest from 20 rows of vegetables, which produce 1,200-1,400 pounds of produce, ranges from $720-840.
