Future spacelift projections

Article Abstract:

The Aerospace Corp undertook a study to project the spaceflight requirements of both civilian and military segments for the years 2000-2010. Long-range space transportation models for future government and civilian use were established. It was observed that the current types of launchers are sufficient for the spacelift needs of planned missions, including the launching of two large low-earth-orbit group of satellites. The biggest space transportation market for the said time frame is the commercial medium-lift category which is projected to grow by 30-50%.

Monster

Article Abstract:

The world's largest flower or something very close to it did once bloom at the NY Botanical Garden, though not recently, contrary to some rumors. 'Amorphophallus titanum' and 'Rafflesia arnoldii' contended for the claim of the world's largest flower until scientists found that Amorphophallus is technically an inflorescence, or multiple flowers. Both are tropical, and both are renowned for a stench like that of rotting meat. Neither, however, has apparently graced the Garden's Propagation Range.
