Mountaintop lodging in Arkansas

Article Abstract:

The Queen Wilhelmina State Park lodge in Arkansas has recently undergone two years and US$1 million worth of improvements, and features 38 rooms and mountaintop views of the park. The lodge was built by Dutch investors originally in 1897 in a failed attempt to lure the Dutch Queen Wilhelmina to the state park.

The highlands come to an Arkansas hill town

The mountain town of Batesville, Arkansas plays host to the annual Arkansas Scottish Festival each April. The festival features pipes and drums, Scottish dancing, Highland games, sheep dog demonstrations, and the sale of items such as linen dresses, hand-woven wool blankets, brooms, and kilts.
