Article Abstract:
An overview is presented of the Chesapeake Bay retriever, a dog which has been bred to work with Eastern Shore hunters to retrieve waterfowl. Its physical shape, with a strong neck and powerful shoulders, assists in the carrying of heavy birds while its colour reflects that of the environment.
