Article Abstract:

Sixteen perennials that make excellent flowering borders are discussed. They are butterfly bush, tulip, daylily, peony , sweet william, sedum, phlox, gayfeather, iris, garden mum, shasta daisy, orange coneflower, coreopsis, columbine, daffodil, and crocus. Tips on growing, and border design are given.

Celebrity, Celebrity Chiffon Morn, Madness and Primetime are excellent, productive, and hardy floribunda petunias. Other types discussed include miliflora, grand flora, and vining styles. Root-zone watering, keeping leaves dry and disease-resistant, is highly recommended.
