Richard DeVore's ceramic artistry is described in two ways. First, DeVore is described as a minimalist or an artist who has trimmed down his vocabulary into few important conventions. His works are created through intense concentration and are described as balanced, objective and self-contained.

The pot or vessel is the key element in all Betty Woodman's works. However, she can also be regarded as a sculptor, with her works clearly exploring autonomous spatial form.

Article Abstract:

The enduring works of Nakian are described, based on a centennial exhibition at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington in 1999. The artist died in 1986.
