Article Abstract:

Several extended-cab pickup trucks, sport-utility vehicles and mini vans with features likely to appeal to the do-it-yourselfer are described. Both compact and full-size sport utility vehicles are described. Advice is included for selecting options such as towing packages and lower final drives.

Black & Decker BV3000 blower/vac is the all-around choice among electrics, though the $79 Weed Eater Barracuda had more vacuuming power. Gas models are noiser, heavier, less powerful and more expensive, but more portable. The $279 Echo Es-2400 Shred 'N Vac is best for large, crowded yards.
