Shooting star

Article Abstract:

Dodecatheon meadia, or shooting star, produces star-shaped blossoms on a long, slender stalk. The blossoms may be violet, white or magenta with a yellow, red and brown center. It requires a good supply of water but is pest resistant and hardy.

Lady fern

Article Abstract:

Lady ferns are distinguished by the crescent-shaped spore clusters on the undersides of the fronds. The ferns like moist, acid soil. They can be divided in spring after the frost has passed and a new growth is beginning.
