Staying home

Article Abstract:

It is a pleasure to have goats but they require care and attention 24 hours per day. In this sense, they seem to have an environmental mission since their owners can choose a lifestyle that keeps them at home caring for their farm animals and taking care of other gardening responsibilities.

Treasures of the canyon: heirloom crops flourish in a remote corner of New Mexico

Article Abstract:

The owner of a ranch in New Mexico describes beginning a kitchen garden for her own use and then expanding it to supply a Santa Fe restaurant. Her crops include tomatoes, corn, eggplants and greens as well as heirloom varieties in danger of extinction.
