One farmer who likes to perform do-it-yourself work demonstrates how easy it is to build an open-sided storage facility. A stone foundation is critical to enabling the structure to survive climatic impact on the soil on which its built. A roof overhang provides shading and protection.

Weather forecasting does not have to be dependent upon the science of meteorological services. The three basic cloud formations, cirrus, stratus and cumulus, indicate the possibility of rain and change in wind direction can indicate the clearing of a storm pattern.

Drowning Quebec for hydropower

Provincially owned Hydro-Quebec has been flooding massive areas of Inuit and Cree Indian land in northern Quebec for hydroelectric projects, often with disastrous environmental consequences. A history of the projects and native resistance is given.
