The Kaleidoscope: A surprise party for the eyes

Article Abstract:

Cozy Baker known as the 'The First Lady of American Kaleidoscopes' owns the world's largest collection, and has made it her personal mission to promote kaleidoscopes, the artists who create them, and the galleries that display them. A Kaleidoscope is a small tube that contains loose pieces of glass, plastic or other colored material loosely sandwiched between two flat plates and two plane mirrors.

Snuff bottles: Miniature masterpieces

Article Abstract:

Sniffing snuff went out of fashion following the revolution in 1912, a change that followed the birth of the new Republic of China. Greatest numbers of these bottles were produced during the 18th century but in order to fill the popular demand, many fine bottles were also manufactured during the 19th century.

Collecting a box full of memories

Article Abstract:

Different types of lunch boxes with reference to their features and the decade in which it gained popularity are presented. The ancestor to the modern lunch box was a tin manufactured by cans makers in the 1860s, which were used to carry food to schools, work, church or family outings.
