Warm and cozy through the winter

Article Abstract:

The new owners found it cold and uncomfortable the first winter in their old farm house, plus fuel oil bills were huge. Unable to get local contractors to do the work, the owner decided to install a floor radiant heating system himself. A drastic drop in oil costs and a comfortable home resulted.

On a warm day

Terraces, patios and decks can be made attractive in winter with evergreens and flowers. Ornaments such as birdhouses and colorful vegetables such as red mustard, lettuce, and raddichio can also help decorate them.
