You don't have to fry green tomatoes

Article Abstract:

Green tomatoes are crunchy and delicious in a variety of dishes. Ways they can be used include in soups, pickles, stews and spaghetti sauce. Recipes are offered for stewed, broiled, grilled, and stir-fry green tomatoes. Recipes for green tomato dip, and fried tomatoes in a light coating are also given.

Thunder, tomatoes

Article Abstract:

Summer brings awesome thunderstorms sometimes, with layered hailstones raining down. The refreshing aftermath of a storm has been celebrated by writers such as Thoreau. Summer means tomatoes in the home garden. Smokers must not pass on the killer TMV to these plants through contaminated hands.

Quiet autumn

Article Abstract:

A man marvels at the phenomenon of animal migration which he feels is linked to the clarity of the autumn atmosphere. He has childhood memories of migrating bluefish, and also eels journeying to the far Sargasso Sea. Birds, monarch butterflies, tiny spiders, all travel on before autumn's end.
