13th annual Furniture Store Performance Report from Furniture/Today presents an overview of financial results and operations of furniture stores from December 31, 2003 to May 31, 2004. The report comprises of sections on product wise sales, performance with respect to store size, performance with respect to geographic regions and trends in imports of furniture.

Total store count gain slows to 97

Article Abstract:

Almost half of the stores on 2000's Top 100 list boosted their store count, even though overall unit growth was much lower than for 1999's Top 100. The Top 100 opened only 97 new stores last year, versus a net 506 stores added by last year's Top 100.
