The small appliance industry has been shaken out of its settled state by recent mergers and acquisitions, and there is now more potential for growth and more lively competition for market share. Personnel changes have fostered new marketing strategies, and manufacturers are optimistic about sales in basic categories and about sales potential for new products.

Cuisinarts: able war machine in processor market battle

Cuisinarts food processors are by far the most popular, controlling a third of the market. Hamilton Beach and GE have small shares of the market, but they're comfortable there, saying their models are directed at a different segment. Retailers are promoting food processors heavily.
