Aktrin sees continued growth in spending

Aktrin Furniture Information Centre is forecasting a fourth straight year in consumer spending growth for household furniture in Canada. The centre said that consumer spending will continue to improve in 2003 due to higher housing starts.

After strong '04, Canadian spending expected to slow

According to Aktrin Furniture Information Center forecast, customers in Canada will spend lesser on furniture and bedding in 2005 and 2006 than that in 2003 and 2004. The various factors contributing to the slow trend are presented.
