Allied adds services, marketing

Article Abstract:

Allied Furniture Distributors, which is the oldest buying group in Canada, will soon provide its members central buy-and-bill services and a consolidated marketing strategy and promotional calendar. The company, which has commissioned Mega/V.I.P. as its management firm, will become a partner in Mega Group. Most of the members of Allied Furniture, which has mainly been a volume rebate house, are the biggest independent retailers in their markets. To qualify for membership at Allied Furniture, a retailer must have C$5 million in sales volume or higher. The members of the company run around 54 outlets.
