Carpet One on the rise

Article Abstract:

Carpet One's vice president of hard surface and area rugs, Sandy Bone, forecasts that by the end of 1999, the company should achieve approximately $20 million in area rug sales, an increase from $16 million in area rug sales that it attains in 1998. The 900-member retail cooperative has aimed to become the leading retailer of area rugs in the US. The dealers of Carpet One currently account for $2.2 billion in retail sales of all kinds of floor coverings. It is estimated that Carpet One accounts for around 15% of the residential sector. Around 25% to 30% of the retailers of Carpet One presently sell rugs.
