Consumer buying trends: loveseats

Article Abstract:

Consumers belonging to the baby boomer generations accounted for fifty-six percent of the loveseat buyers, younger generations accounted for one-fourth of the buyers and older generation accounted for very few loveseat buyers. Southerners and Midwesterners spend large amount of money on the loveseats as compared to the Northeastern and Western consumers.

Majority of the people who purchased stationary sofas belonged to the baby boomer category. Consumers belonging to the age group of forty-four years or below preferred dark-colored sofas along with fabric treatment whereas consumers above fifty-five years preferred light-colored sofas.

Three-fifths of the households who purchased motion sofas belonged to the baby boomer generation. Households in Midwest or South represented two-thirds of the consumers who purchased motion sofas.
