Design school could bring needed boost to NC area

Article Abstract:

Inspite of growing imports and the consumer taking furniture design for granted, industry players have not taken the importance of designing furniture nonchalantly. Universities and colle ges of Piedmont Triad are getting together to open a National Institute of Design to cover most areas of furniture designing.

Poland visits stir ghosts of the past

Article Abstract:

Recently several US retailers visited Poland to explore furniture. Their trip also included site-seeing of various historical places. An overview is presented of their experience at the Auschwitz concentration camp and Birkenau labor camp, where 1.1 million Jews died during the Holocaust.

HPU, public schools could work together on Triad design institute

Article Abstract:

The idea of National Institute of Design (NID) has been conceived and accepted by the industry and educational institutions. The existing High Point University (HPU) and NID could work together in their offerings. The facilities at existing HPU & proposed NID are detailed.
