Domain targets Web, TV for growth

Article Abstract:

Domain Home Fashions has assigned an important role to the Internet and TV home shopping for its short-term growth strategy. Judy George, chairman of the 23-store chain, said that Domain is concentrating on its brands and new channels of distribution. To emphasize the importance of the new business strategy, George determined that no new markets will be entered into by Domain in 1998. In lieu of geographical expansion, Domain intends to expand via the Internet with its youth furniture-oriented Web site Domain for Kids, to be launched on November 1998. A new program, dubbed D2, will offer a less expensive Domain merchandise line to be sold through TV home shopping networks.
