Fingerhut looks to furniture in new book to lure customers

Fingerhut of Minnetonka, MN, has released its Rooms for Living catalog that is designed to use furnitures as a base to entice new clients. The company, which intends to capitalize on the current strength of furniture retailing, plans to use the new catalog as its entry into the total decorating business. Fingerhut's 112-page Rooms for Living catalog, which is under the subtitle "Decorating solutions to suit your lifestyle," focuses on furnitures and combines it with accessories, electronics, home textiles and rugs.

At the 15th International Contemporary Furniture Fair held in NYC, a range of new designs debuted. Some of the designs were based upon traditional forms. Others were very avant-guard suggestive of the 1960s, some of which are pictured in this article.
