Fresh directions in rugs

Article Abstract:

Rug manufacturers are willing to make risks in bringing new creative designs to the market as the sector continues to bloom with double-digit growth rates. Several rug producers and importers are still meeting the orders at the January 1998 market, which posted a record in the number of new offerings. Among the anticipated changes in the industry is new technology, involving more multi-color weaving machinery of up to 10-color capacity. New technology could also involve loop machinery that creates a nubby look instead of the usual smooth pattern in rugs.
