Gallery approach effective

Article Abstract:

The gallery approach to the rug business, developed by Capel, has been effective and is adopted by such vendors as Nourison and Feizy. The range of Capel products and price points made the concept a natural for furniture stores looking for a one-stop rug supplier. Capel gallery dealers sell items an average of two to three times on their initial investments, and sales per square foot from $250 to $600. Nourison, a large importer of hand-made rugs, developed a complete merchandising system called 'Simple Sample Sell.' A store normally spends around $10,000 for the unit. Feizy Rugs also have a gallery approach for furniture dealers. Packages range from $4,000 to $40,000 depending on size. Most of its business is on a store-to-store basis.

They will be introduding new products, but each seller has a different strategy, all in tune with the somber mood of the nation.The expectation is that, as people spend more time in their homes, they will spend more money on their homes.
