Here's to strong 2nd half of '04

Positive 1st half result in furniture sales despite several hampering factors, the furniture industry is optimistic about the 2nd half of E04. The general feeling among retailers and manufacturers of furniture that business has been strong till now this year with a potential to get even better especially and the anti dumping issue is settled.

Ruling relieves retailers

Department of Commerce's ruling that the dumping duties imposed on Chinese bedroom furniture will be livable has put U.S. furniture retailers happy. Keith Koenig president of Furniture Retailers of America has expressed his views on the growth and trends of the furniture industry due to this ruling by DOC.

China antidumping saga 'ain't over till it's over'

The United States Department of Commerce has lowered antidumping duties on bedroom furniture products from 198.08% to 10.92% due to a ministerial error. The implications for the industry are discussed.
