Co-housing, used first in Denmark, is growing in popularity in the US. Cohousing provides participants a sense of community with others who share their social values. Many spaces, chores and home maintenance tasks are shared.

Tenants worked with the architects to design the new public housing that replaced some dismal, obsolete housing projects in Chester, PA. Tenants also provided input in the design process for units that were rehabilitated.
