IBC rolls out new line, new prices

IBC Corp. of Fort Lauderdale, FL, long considered as a low-end bedding manufacturer, has released its Imperial Collection line of beddings that are priced as high as $1,699 each for queen-size models. The new nine-model line, which has attributes traditionally present in medium to high-end bedding products, is already being test-marketed at Sit 'N Sleep in Culver City, CA. IBC, which is planning to test the product's potential at Mattress Giant in Dallas, TX, has expressed satisfaction at the market's initial response to the new line.

L&P earnings jump 38.6%

One of the leading manufacturers of furniture and bedding equipment, Leggett & Platt's income increased 38.6 percent in 2004 with a record sale of $5.1 billion. The sources of profits mainly came from upholstered furniture mechanisms, carpet underlayment and machinery.
