ISPA asks Calif. to clear up FR 'confusion'

Article Abstract:

The International Sleep Products Assn. (ISPA) has requested the California officials to clarify the confusion regarding the federal mattress flammability standards and obtain authority from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to legally enforce a mandatory standard. The industry feels that consumers will be best served only by a mandatory standard that is legally enforceable.

California still committed to FR standards

The California Bureau of Home Furnishings has reiterated its commitment towards new open flame mattress flammability standards. The Board has said that the regulations will be effective from January 1, 2005.
