Key Asian wood cost rises: rubberwood users could raise prices 3% to 7% as soon as June

Article Abstract:

The rubberwood from Malaysia and Thailand is expected to witness a price hike between three to seven percent in June 2004. The Asian connection

Article Abstract:

Asian producers can make furniture at a much lower cost compared to their American counter parts due to low labor rates. The trend shows that China shipped $5.7 billion in 2002 in home furnishings to the United States, up from $4.2 billion the year before and $1.8 billion in 1998.
