La-Z-Boy recalling 1,000 recliners

Article Abstract:

La-Z-Boy of Monroe, MI, is implementing a recall of about 1,000 units of its recliners to replace spring assembly units that might have been exposed to radiation. The units, which were made from Jun. 5, 1998, to Jun. 12, 1998, were manufactured from the firm's facilities in Neosho, MO, Tremonton, UT, Dayton, TN, and Newton, MS. The company, which will issue the recall notification through its dealers, said that the supplier of the rocker spring assembly, No-Sag Product Corp., found the radiation trace in the waste metal used in making the product.

The prevailing design themes that have been welcomed in 1998 and which have global influences include elegant Asian-like silks, apparel styles, rug looks, garden looks and retro or deco designs.
