Article Abstract:

In the past decade licensing has caught on in home lines, with the housewares area the most recent. The housewares industry is not taking full advantage of licensing yet. Many housewares manufacturers state that licensing has enhanced their sales profiles. A good license is practically pre-sold for both the manufacturer and retailer. But because of the nature of licensed products, there is a risk factor concerning the actual product life of a year or less.

Importers fear impact from ITC porc. on steel decision

Article Abstract:

Importers believe that the protective tariffs against imported porcelain on steel cookware will have ill effects on them. Tariff may be lifted in 1984. Importers are bitter and claim that the decision benefits one company, General Housewares Corp., and not an industry.
