Metalwork in early America

Article Abstract:

Winterthur Museum is home to the pieces that represent the early metalwork fashion of America. Among those collected were equipment made from copper and alloy, and were featured in a book by Antique Collectors Club. Practical usage and brief records of the tools are also mentioned.

Early American jewelry

Article Abstract:

Interest in jewelry was increasing in 17th-19th century America, though not as widespread as in Europe. Examples of pieces included gold mourning rings, pearl necklaces, miniature portraits with gold bracelets, chatelaines with ivory paintings, and jewelry from locks of hair.

Sharing early treasures

Bertram and Nina Fletcher Little have amassed one of the best collections of early American antiques. Their impressive collection is scheduled to go on exhibit on Sep. 25, 1996, at the Frick Art and Historical Center in Pittsburgh, PA.
