Simmons is implementing two marketing strategies for it BackCare line of furniture products in partnership with grocery stores and physicians. The physician program includes the distribution of Back Health, the company's publication that deal with back care. Each copy contains a coupon that gives a $100-discount for every purchase of a BackCare Ultimate sleep set. The grocery store program, which is being implemented at Omaha, NE-based Nebraska Furniture Mart's locations, awards $50-coupons to consumers who purchase products that include Motrin, Advil, Healthy Choice and Lean Cuisine.

Heilig-Meyers exits NASCAR

Article Abstract:

Heilig Meyers, which has been on its sixth year as the sponsor of the No. 90 car on NASCAR's popular Winston Cup circuit, has declared it will depart from the sponsorship field in the 1999 season. The company said it has terminated its contract with Donlavey Racing, the owner of the No. 90 car, and stressed that it will not enter into other sponsorship arena in motor sports. Heilig-Meyers Chairman Bill De Rusha stated the decision to withdraw from the sponsorship was not brought about by the mediocre performance of the race team.
